Guitarra De Cristal

Guitarra De CristalGuitarre de Cristal features music for the guitar by some of the most renowned Cuban composers of the twentieth century. These composers reflect the eclectic environment of their historical and cultural heritage; to listen to their music is to journey through the twentieth-century Cuban musical landscape, aurally witnessing a variety of modern compositional styles and the diversity of Cuban musical traditions.Though all the composers represented in this recording were trained outside Cuba, the rhythms, the energy, and the character of their native Cuban music clearly inspired their works. As mentioned earlier, Guitarre de Cristal presents a journey through the twentieth-century Cuban musical landscape; but to listen to it is not merely to journey, it is also to dance. It is to dance to the rhythms of the cinquillo and the habanera; it is to groove through the dance floors of the cultural melting pot that is Cuba.
